Many people were taking pictures of the sky Saturday night because of the recent storm but one viewer caught something different while trying to shoot the clouds. This video was sent to an Albuquerque news station from viewer Cesar Garcia. He was recording the clouds near the corner of Blake and Unser streets in Albuquerque when he inadvertently captured a strange object flying by. The object gets brighter towards the end and you can faintly see another one trailing it. This all happened around 6 p.m. Saturday. Garcia said he didn’t even notice it until after he played back the video.
And of course in the obligatory “save face” response, the newscasters mock the video towards the end…
Early detractors suggested lens flare as the culprit but the glowing object obviously moves faster than the camera is moving suggesting it is not refracting light.
