The Doomsday Clock hangs on a wall in the University of Chicago where the hour hand sits at 12 o'clock. The minute hand has only changed nineteen times, inching closer towards midnight, marking the countdown to global catastrophe and human extinction. The clock has been maintained since 1947 by the members of The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists' Science and Security Board. The decision to move the clock or not is led by a group of scientists and intellectuals, including 15 Nobel laureates.. The closer the Clock inches toward midnight, the more vulnerable the scientists believe the world is to global disaster. Originally, the Clock represented an analogy for the threat of global nuclear war; however, since 2007 it has also reflected climate change, and new developments in the
Is this a legit leaked Executive Order allowing the reopening of black sites for detention and interrogation of “enemy combatants”?
This might be propaganda, possibly "fake news", or potentially a legit copy of a leaked Executive Order regarding the detention and interrogation of "enemy combatants". If it's legit, it of course allows us a deeper look at the White House mindset and a hint at the nation's direction going forward. The document (see all four pages below) includes edits that show the author changed references from "jihadist" to "Islamist", "global war on terrorism" to "fight against radical Islamism", and "jihadist groups" to "terrorist organizations". Both fall in line with previous White House verbiage regarding terrorist threats. It will be interesting to see if the White House (and President Trump) continue to use this same verbiage going forward which would lend legitimacy to the document. In short, the
Residents of Michoacán, Mexico, were treated to a baffling meteorological anomaly around 6:00 PM on Friday January 20, 2017. Thousands of citizens witnessed a bizarre cloud which looked like an inverted tornado with a strange bright light beaming inside. It was estimated to be several miles high and at one point, several miles long. The cloud was visible for more than an hour at which point it transformed to an elongated shape with two mirror-image rudder-like appendages leading its advance. Witnesses from Uruapan to Morelia, in the central part of the Mexican state, reported seeing the unusual cloud. Mexican social media networks lit up with photographs and video of the event. Many though it could be “a spacecraft disguising itself to look like a cloud”. Others noted
It’s being called the best UFO evidence to date – a 9-minute hi-def/infrared video shot in 2014 by the Chilean Navy. Remarkable for its clarity and duration, the video was declassified in late 2016 after officials admitted they were unable to identify the UAP (unidentified aerial phenomena) captured in the video. The Chilean Navy UFO/UAP video The UAP was recorded on November 11, 2014 at 1:52 PM from a Navy helicopter during a routine daytime patrol mission. It was shot using a WESCAM MX-15 HD Forward Looking Camera which captures both hi-definition and infrared video (in which hot objects appear dark and cool object appear light). The helicopter was flying about 4,500 feet at 152 MPH in clear weather. It was travelling north along the coast just west
The mysterious death of Michael Hastings – did an automobile cyberattack silence a controversial journalist?
Michael Hastings' controversial journalist career Michael Mahon Hastings, American journalist, author, and contributing editor to Rolling Stone magazine, had no second gear. Described as a person who “talked fast, smoked fast” and “vibrated energy”, his aggressive demeanor and penchant for writing the truth with no regard for consequences may have prompted his untimely death. In 2013, Hastings died in Los Angeles in a high-speed automobile accident that some believe to be the world’s first cyberattack against a car. An innocent start - a tragic end Michael Hastings began his career writing children’s stories for Scholastic, an educational magazine for kids. By 2002, he had moved to Newsweek where he earned accolades for his coverage of the Iraq War. In 2007, while based in Iraq, his fiancée, Andrea Parhamovich,
The discovery of pedophile secret underground symbols FBI’s Cyber Division Innocent Images National Initiative first discovered the secret pedophile code in 2007. For decades, the symbols had appeared unnoticed on websites, jewelry (e.g. pendants, rings, coins), clothing, and sometimes hidden in plain sight within other imagery. The symbols consist of various images used to covertly signal, within the pedophile underground culture, the pedophile’s preference, cause, or illicit intent. When the symbols were discovered, the FBI issued an intelligence bulletin to law enforcement offices: “Pedophiles, to include those who sexually abuse children as well as those who produce, distribute, and trade child pornography, are using various types of identification logos or symbols to recognize one another and distinguish their sexual preferences. To specifically indicate the pedophile’s gender preference, members
The photo, which first appeared on social networks, appears to be real and untouched and depicts a spooky, dark-winged demon-like creature standing ominously in a vacant lot near a road. The original poster uploaded the photo with this question: “What the hell do you see in this picture???” The humanoid creature in the picture appears to be about 20-feet tall with long legs and outstretched wings. It is believed the photo was shot in Tucson, Arizona on New Year’s Day (2017). I’m not calling hoax on this one but misidentification is not out of the question. It does indeed look like the legendary Mothman though…
