Poor old Joshua James of Jupiter, Florida just can’t catch a break. This week he found himself in hot water with police on a variety of charges – and all he did was throw a live alligator through the local Wendy’s drive-thru window.

Man thru live alligator thru this Wendy's drive-thru window in Jupiter, FloridaPolice say that on October 11, 2015, James arrived at the Wendy’s drive-thru around 1:30 AM wearing a backward baseball cap and ordered a large drink. Surveillance video captured James’ weird toss.

“While the attendant has her back to the window and is at her register, the male driver reaches across the inside of his vehicle in the passenger area and throws an alligator from his vehicle into the drive through window.”

A photograph from the video shows the 3 ½ foot alligator lying flat on the floor, legs splayed, standing its ground in a corner of the restaurant.

James admitted to having picked up the alligator on the side of the road and tossing it through the drive-thru window. His mother told local WPTV:

“He does stuff like this because he thinks it’s funny.”

Ironically, police found James in an earlier surveillance video at a nearby gas station acting “funny”. Investigators described what they saw:

“The driver exited his vehicle by pulling himself up and out of the window of his door instead of opening the door itself. Then the driver and a passenger continuously look through the driver’s side window at something inside.”

Police took their time compiling a list of criminal charges for the 24-year-old prankster. James has been charged with transporting an alligator, petty theft, unlawful sale, and yes – aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
