The spiked baseball bats were found chained to poles across San FranciscoThey mystery began to unfold early Thanksgiving morning when San Francisco police received calls from concerned citizens regarding creepy spiked baseball bats chained to street poles throughout the city. The bats, which have long metal spikes running through them, were found chained to parking meters, streetlights, sidewalk benches, and signposts. By the end of the day, fifteen weaponized bats had been discovered across the city. By Saturday morning, the number had increased to 27.

When the sightings of these strange bats were first reported to the police, SFPD was placed on alert and treated the sites as standing as a potential risk to human lives. One resident told ABC reporters:

“This is a little stranger than normal, so, we called the cops just in case and like two cars showed up immediately.”

The resident went on to note that the construction of the spiked bats was no small task. They resembled something Harley Quinn would carry.

“There were bolts in this thing. They had drill holes in it. They knew what they were doing. Whoever did this put it together, this was not put together in an hour.”

Police are asking the public to report any information they may have about the mysterious bats.
