Man suffering sleep paralysis sets up cameras – says he filmed ghostly entity rising from bed.

Man suffering from sleep paralysis videos smoky black figure rising from bed

Last week, Mike experienced sleep paralysis (also known as “Old Hag”) for the first time in his life. During the paralysis, he saw “an ominous black figure” at the end of this bed. He researched sleep paralysis and found that many people have experienced the condition including visions of black figures or other mysterious entities floating around their beds. The following night, Mike experienced a similar event but this time, he remained awake while “feeling a dark presence in the room”.

Out of curiosity, Mike decided to leave the light on and set up a video camera to film himself sleeping.

“I’m a rationalist and a very skeptical person with no previous interest in paranormal activity, but after doing some research it seemed like there was a possibility that this entity is real.”

The next morning, what he found on film terrified him. Check out the video below (we’ve included post-processing snippets to bring out the shadow) and note the black figure rising from the foot of the bed (the end of the bed butted up against the wall).

Mike notes that during his review of the film, he nearly missed the ghostly black figure rising from his bed. If not for an audio spike on the video, he would have never noticed it. Now he is not sure what he captured on video.

“I have watched the footage over and over trying to figure out some logical explanation for what could have caused the image of what seems to be a ghost, but I haven’t been able to come up with a solution.  I am really starting to believe that I captured the entity I saw during my paralysis on video. This terrifies me so much that I can no longer sleep in my room.”

During sleep paralysis, the person is unable to move for several minutes. The victim often experiences terrifying visions, most commonly an incubus figure which is attempting to suffocate or strangle them. Scientists theorize that sleep paralysis occurs when the person is interrupted from REM sleep but to date, have been unable to pinpoint a precise cause for the condition. Some believe sleep paralysis is the result of an attack by a paranormal or spiritual entity (e.g., demons).
