Scary clowns are causing a stir in Bakersfield/Wasco, California

The stuff of nightmares has hit the streets of Bakersfield, California. Residents of California’s San Joaquin Valley, including the cities of Bakersfield and Wasco, are up in arms over a spate of scary clowns sighted roaming the streets and terrorizing citizens. One call received by Bakersfield police reported a clown in a residential area with a firearm. This follows a week’s worth of sightings of scary clowns that are causing quite a stir in the area.

Scary clowns are causing a stir in Bakersfield/Wasco, CaliforniaAccording to the local Bakersfield Californian, one arrest has been made of a clown who was reported “chasing juveniles”. Other reports include “the Wasco Clown” who is posting ominous photographs on social networks (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram) of a clown carrying balloons cruising the streets and children’s’ playgrounds at night. The L.A. Times says at least sixteen clowns with weapons, including guns, baseball bats, and machetes, have been reported to authorities this past week.

The Bakersfield Californian reported one incident that occurred on October 8, 2014:

“Kern County sheriff’s deputies responded to an intersection near Golden Valley High School Wednesday afternoon for a report of a clown, complete with orange hair and white clothing, chasing people with a club.”

In Bakersfield, police Sgt. Joseph Grubbs said police are taking the clown reports seriously because it could turn into something more dangerous.

“We will make arrests on this,” Grubs said. “We want this to stop.”

My suggestion to the people of Wasco – move… now. Nothing good can ever come from clowns.
